A gentle start to 2022 (January)
I tend to try and hit the new year running, in a complete panic. This is because I haven’t actually planned out what to do in December for the New Year because I’m busy with December things. This year I tried a different approach.
This year I decided I would take January slow and use that time to figure out what I’m going to be doing and try and figure out how to do it. This has worked a bit better so far.
I’ve figured a few things out and even got some systems in place to help me achieve these goals.
What I’ve got so far:
- 1) A bullet journal.
I’m trying out a bullet journal to organise my work (predominantly writing), to keep track of a few things (such as going to the gym) and also to keep it as a diary because I feel strange wasting a whole page in a traditional diary if I don’t write anything or only write one line per page.
This is going well so far. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.
Also I’m sharing the illustrations I put in it (because who doesn’t like a little decoration?) on Instagram:
- 2) Goals and ideas.
I have word counts I want to hit and videos I want to make. To achieve that I’ve written them all down and I’m trying to develop a simple, straightforward system to make creating (videos especially) more straightforward for me so I can produce them quicker and better. - 3) A new external hard drive, finally! So I can start afresh and have everything better organised.
It might not sound like much but I’m hoping it’ll make a difference.
How has your year started off? Slow or rushed?
Anyway, this was just a little update so I’ll be going now.
See you soon,
Robin
